Keigan Jason Baker was born on January 14, 1996, in Longview, Washington, to Jason Baker and Renee Ramey (Johnson). From a young age, Keigan stood out for his energy, drive, and natural leadership. He was deeply involved in athletics growing up—competing in soccer, baseball, Kung Fu, wrestling, track, basketball, and football. No matter the sport, Keigan brought intensity, discipline, and a competitive spirit that set him apart.

During his time at Mark Morris High School, Keigan’s passion for football became a defining part of his identity. As a senior, he earned 1st Team All-League Defense, a recognition that reflected both his athletic ability and his relentless work ethic. He graduated in 2014, leaving behind a reputation as both a fierce competitor and a respected teammate.

Following high school, Keigan attended Eastern Washington University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management. While at EWU, he participated in the ROTC program, continuing to develop the leadership skills and sense of purpose that would ultimately lead him to military service.

In 2018, Keigan enlisted in the United States Air Force. From the very beginning, he distinguished himself—earning Honor Graduate status during Basic Military Training, an achievement reserved for the top performers in his class. His leadership was evident early on, as he was selected to lead 18 Airmen as an Element Leader, setting the tone for the excellence that would define his career.

After BMT, Keigan earned a coveted position in the Air Force Special Tactics Combat Control program—one of the most elite and demanding career fields in the U.S. military. Combat Controllers are among the most highly trained operators in the world, specializing in air traffic control in austere environments, coordinating precision airstrikes, conducting reconnaissance, and supporting personnel recovery missions alongside special operations forces.

Throughout the rigorous Special Tactics training pipeline, Keigan consistently rose to the top. During Air Traffic Control School at Keesler Air Force Base, he was selected as an enlisted team leader, guiding 12 Airmen through weeks of intense academic, physical, and simulator-based training. His mastery of complex air traffic control operations earned the trust of his instructors, leading him to help teach multiple classes and mentor fellow trainees. His leadership directly contributed to the success of his peers, many of whom completed the pipeline alongside him.

In December 2019, Keigan achieved the rank of Airman First Class (A1C) and earned his scarlet beret, officially becoming a Special Tactics Combat Controller—a milestone that represents years of perseverance, resilience, and elite-level performance.

He was assigned to the Special Tactics Training Squadron, 24th Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Florida, under Air Force Special Operations Command. There, he continued to embody the highest standards of the Air Force, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Keigan was known for who he was as a person. He was deeply devoted to his family, loyal to his friends, and always willing to help others succeed. He had a natural ability to lift people up—whether through mentorship, encouragement, or simply his presence.

He loved the outdoors and embraced life fully—seeking adventure, challenge, and meaning in everything he did. His personality was magnetic; his smile and laughter could light up any room, and his positivity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Tragically, Keigan’s life was cut short while serving his country. Though his time was brief, his impact was profound—on his family, his teammates, his community, and the nation he proudly served.

Keigan lived by a simple but powerful motto:
